Batman #356 - Don Newton art

Batman v1 #356, 1983 - Kidnapped and taken to a duplicate Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne must fight for the right for continuing as Batman. The scenario is competently drawn by Don Newton, whose varied layouts add to a sense of unexpectedness. A battle between two "Batmans" ensues on page 17, culminating in a terrific full page splash on page 19. Dick Giordano's inks are assertive at times, but in general, Newton's artwork comes foreward. This is number 16 of 34 Batman issues with Newton art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Newton or Batman issues. See also this blog's Newton checklist.
