Batman #354 - Don Newton art

Batman v1 #354, 1982 - Gotham's new mayor makes Batman into a fugitive of the law. Meanwhile, "Boss" Thorne continues to be haunted by the ghost of Hugo Strange. Don Newton's opening splash is finely rendered and compelling. His pencils on the remaining pages, however, are mostly overwhelmed by Alfredo Alcala's inks. Newton's hand is evident, but on far too few panels. Keith Giffen and Dick Giordano submit the graphically interesting cover design. This is number 10 of 34 Batman issues with Newton art and/or covers.
