Batman v1 #354, 1982 - Gotham's new mayor makes Batman into a fugitive of the law. Meanwhile, "Boss" Thorne continues to be haunted by the ghost of Hugo Strange. Don Newton's opening splash is finely rendered and compelling. His pencils on the remaining pages, however, are mostly overwhelmed by Alfredo Alcala's inks. Newton's hand is evident, but on far too few panels. This copper age comic also includes a graphically interesting cover design by Keith Giffen and Dick Giordano. This is 11 of 32
