X-Men #10 - Jack Kirby art & cover

Jack Kirby
X-Men v1 #10, 1965 - An incident leads the X-men to Antarctica, where they discover the lost world of the Savage Land and its primitive inhabitants. The silver age Ka-zar makes his debut along with his saber-tooth tiger Zabu. Jack Kirby splendidly transitions the settings from frozen tundra to tropical jungle. The artist also nicely contrasts the modern day super-heroes against dinosaurs and other extinct creatures (see interior page below). Among the many highlights are the Angel's flight from pterodactyls (page 6) and Marvel Girl's telekenetic assembly of a rifle (page 2). This is number 10 of 17 X-Men issues with Kirby art and/or covers (not including reprints).
