Avengers #183 - John Byrne art

Avengers v1 #183, 1979 - Ms. Marvel and the Falcon join the team, just in time for a confrontation with the Absorbing Man. Klaus Janson's inks continue to be heavy-handed, often suppressing John Byrne's pencils. Reliably but conservatively drawn, the story seems to have more introspective, dialogue-driven scenes than previous issues. The action ramps up toward the end, as the Avengers rush into battle. Other artists in this issue include George Perez and Terry Austin (cover). This is number 6 of 17 Avengers issues with Byrne art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Byrne or Avengers issues.
