Buster Crabbe #1 - Frank Frazetta ad

Buster Crabbe v1 #1, 1951 - The adventures of actor Buster Crabbe begin in his own western-themed comic book. Though the story art is typically mediocre, the issue does boast a full page Frank Frazetta ad. In "We Can Stop the Enemies of Youth", a teenager becomes a drug addict, a pusher and eventually a pariah in his neighborhood. Of the few 1950s ads by Frazetta, this one is his most convincing. This also appeared in other comics by the same publisher, including Heroic Comics #70. This is number 1 of 5 Buster Crabbe issues with Frazetta art and/or covers. See today's posts, more Frazetta or Buster Crabbe issues. See also this blog's Frazetta checklist.
