Kobra #1 - Jack Kirby art + 1st appearance

Kobra #1

Kobra v1 #1, 1975 - Jason Burr discovers a long lost twin brother who not only shares his pain but leads an ancient cult of evil. Jack Kirby is tasked with drawing Kobra's first appearance and origin, establishing the character and the conspiratorial tone of the series. His artwork is mostly adequate, mostly relying on his considerable layout and pacing skills. The harshness of Kirby's style is softened by Pablo Marcos' partial inking. Some of the panels fare better than others, but the result overall is not displeasing. Written by Marty Pasko, this issue also includes cover artwork by Ernie Chua. This is 1 of 1 Kobra issues by Kirby. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover, 1st origin Kobra, 1st issue
