Love Romances v1 #101, 1961 - Each of the three
Jack Kirby tales begin with full page splashes, helping offset some the more crowded layouts that follow. Each also has its strengths and weaknesses, with panels varying widely in quality and detail. In "His Lips on Mine", a young lady loses her passion for romance. Oddly enough, the story opens with a male suitor cropped completely out of the frame. Though clumsy in composition, Kirby does seem to emphasize her disinterest in her vast collection of boyfriends. Other artists in this silver age comic include Gene Colan, who uses a more contemporary (and more realistic) approach to the art. This is 13 of 18
