Crime and Justice #18 - Steve Ditko art

Crime and Justice #18
Crime and Justice v1 #18, 1951 - A cold-blooded killer seeks revenge on the jurors who sent him to prison four years ago. The artwork by Steve Ditko is well paced and the inking in particular stands out. A more streamlined finish permeates the story, contrasting against a looser approach more common in his 1950s works (a different inker perhaps?). Additionally, the artist seems to expend more effort than usual in the details within the panels. Noteworthy scenes include the first panel's finely rendered interior textures and the intricate tools within a science lab (see interior page below). Overall the issue is a good example of Ditko's early potential. Other artists in this golden age crime comic include Stan Campbell. This is 1 of 1 Crime and Justice issues by Ditko.
