Gunsmoke v2 #11 - Al Williamson art

Gunsmoke v2 #11, 1958 - Though the two main stories feature Marshall Matt Dillon, the shorter "True Tales of Dodge City" outshines them both artistically. Al Williamson's drawings display a high level of draftsmanship. On page two, his depictions of the mule-headed Dirty Face Jones (see interior page above) have a gritty realism well-suited for the character. Toward the end of his run on the series, Williamson continues to impress. This is number 4 of 5 Gunsmoke issues with Williamson art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Williamson or Gunsmoke issues. See also this blog's Williamson checklist.
