Durango Kid #12 - Frank Frazetta art

Durango Kid v1 #12, 1951 - Dan Brand and Tipi continue to aid the American Revolutionary war effort, this time defending against redcoats entering from Canada. Frank Frazetta's drawing skills continue to be impressive. The final confrontation between Dan and a renegade scout (page 7) seems repetitive, but his renditions of pristine forests and rock formations are breathtaking. The artist's strongest panel depicts the main characters descending from a tree (page 2 panel 4). The dappled light and shadows give the scene a naturalistic quality. This story was later reprinted in White Indian #13. Other artists in this issue include Joe Certa (Durango Kid stories). This is number 12 of 16 Durango Kid issues with Frazetta art and/or covers.
