Aztec Ace #4 - Nestor Redondo art

Aztec Ace #4, 1984 - The intriguing opening splash displays a weeping mask of King Tut, adeptly inked by Nestor Redondo. It is the story's highlight and sets the tone for Dan Day's busy pages. Page two's use of a papyrus roll is one of many clever moments in the series. Redondo continues to use his steady hand to infuse craftsmanship on the series, although the final pages seem to be slightly less defined, including the backgrounds. The last page featuring two Egyptian figures, has plenty of detail but lacks a bit of modeling and depth. This is number 4 of 8 Aztec Ace issues with Redondo art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Redondo or Aztec Ace issues. See also this blog's Redondo checklist or Top 10 Nestor comics.
