(Walt Disney's) Donald Duck v1 / Four Color v2 #282, 1950 - Hanging around the dockyards, Huey, Louie and Dewey buy a parrot that counts obsessively. The story soon takes them to South America, where
Carl Barks takes the opportunity to illustrate the exotic. There's plenty of amusing sight gags, especially the sequences where the parrot escapes. Details abound on several panels, including Uncle Scrooge in his money bin (page 4 panel 5) and the long view of a merchant ship (page 14 panel 7). Barks also does a credible job on the cover, considered a classic by many. This story was later reprinted in
Donald Duck #229 and
Walt Disney Comics Digest #44. This is 15 of 43
Donald Duck issues by
Barks.
