Son of Satan #1 - Jim Starlin art + 1st issue

Son of Satan #1
Son of Satan v1 #1, 1975 - One of the most interesting anti-heroes of the 1970s, Son of Satan begins his own self-titled series. Continuing from his initial run on Marvel Spotlight, this first issue starts with an opening splash by Jim Starlin. He contributes an eye-catching scene, surrounding the title character with hellish denizens in silhouette. Jim Mooney draws most of the book, but also inks this page for the sake of visual continuity. Despite Mooney's dominant style, Starlin's pencils succeed in setting an appropriately sinister tone. This issue also includes cover artwork by Gil Kane and Mike Esposito. This is 1 of 1 Son of Satan issues by Starlin. /// key 1st issue
