Son of Satan #1 - Jim Starlin art

Son of Satan v1 #1, 1975 - One of the most interesting anti-heroes of the 1970s, Son of Satan begins his own self-titled series, continuing from his initial run on Marvel Spotlight. Jim Starlin contributes an eye-catching opening splash, surrounding the title character with hellish denizens in silhouette. Jim Mooney draws most of the book, but also inks this page for the sake of visual continuity. Despite Mooney's dominant style, Starlin's pencils succeed in setting an appropriately sinister tone. Other artists in this issue include Gil Kane and Mike Esposito (cover). This is number 1 of 1 Son of Satan issues with Starlin art and/or covers.
