Western Gunfighters v2 #4 - Barry Windsor Smith art

Western Gunfighters v2 #4, 1971 - Combining new material with old, this western title features the original Ghost Rider, Gunhawk and the Apache Kid. An early Barry Smith tale stands out, probably one of the least known efforts. His graphic, almost abstract style is consistent with other early works for Marvel. Interestingly, the story's Native American hero bears a strong likeness to Conan the Barbarian. This is Smith's only western story. Other artists in this issue include Dick Ayers, John Romita, Tom Sutton and Herb Trimpe (cover). This is number 1 of 1 Western Gunfighters v2 issues with Smith art and/or covers.
