Marvel Feature #11 / Thing and Iron Man - Jim Starlin art

Marvel Feature v1 #11 featuring the Thing and the Hulk, 1973 - Technically the beginning of a team-up series for The Thing, the choice of the Incredible Hulk makes sense given their history. After a brief retelling of the Fantastic Four's origin, the two man-monsters are unexpectedly transported to a western-style ghost town. Jim Starlin's pencils are mostly dominated by inker Joe Sinnott, resulting in a streamlined look. While the integrity of Starlin's layouts remain intact, the overall results are mixed and shows a young artist trying to find his own artistic voice. This story was later reprinted in Marvel Treasury Edition #5. This is number 2 of 3 Marvel Feature issues with Starlin art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Starlin or Marvel Feature issues.
