Richard Dragon, Kung Fu Fighter #8 - Wally Wood art

Richard Dragon, Kung Fu Fighter v1 #8, 1976 - A mediocre splash opens Wally Wood's last effort on the series. Richard Dragon and Lady Shiva confront an old foe in a rather clumsy metaphorical layout. Thankfully, the art on the remaining pages more than compensates. Wood's inks are strongly felt in every scene, in particular Shiva's prisoner interrogation (see interior page below). The sharp contrasts divide up the faces and figures quite dramatically. Other artists in this issue include Dick Giordano (cover). This is number 5 of 5 Richard Dragon issues with Wood art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Wood or Richard Dragon, Kung Fu Fighter issues. See also this blog's Wood checklist.
