Real McCoys / Four Color Comics v2 #1134 - Alex Toth art

The Real McCoys / Four Color Comics v2 #1134, 1960 - Based on the Walter Brennan television show, this supporting comic book series was relatively short-lived with only five issues. Alex Toth's second effort on the series is in stark contrast to his first. Both feature stories demonstrate the keen draftsmanship he's reputed for. Larger panels are loose and impressionistic without sacrificing storytelling. The facial close-ups of the characters (see interior page shown below) are particularly detailed and wonderfully emotive. Three single gag pages round out the book with no noticeable loss in effort by Toth. This is number 2 of 2 Real McCoys issues with Toth art and/or covers.
