Mysterious Suspense #1 - Steve Ditko art & cover

Mysterious Suspense v1 #1 charlton question silver age 1960s comic book cover art by Steve Ditko
Steve Ditko
Mysterious Suspense v1 #1, 1968 - The Question returns in this one-shot issue, his first solo book. The opening splash by Rocco Mastroserio seems oddly out of place. The majority of the book is drawn by Steve Ditko, organized into two chapters. With the exception of page 13, showing the hero's transformation into costume, most of the pages are comprised of small, static panels (see interior page below). Philosophically wordy, the dialogue leaves considerably less room for the art. Still, within the small frames, Ditko's draftsmanship is undeniable. His cover is an even better example of his superb sense of design. This is number 1 of 1 Mysterious Suspense issues with Ditko art and/or covers.
