Machine Man v2 #1, 1984 - Machine Man awakens in the year 2020 and struggles to adjust to his new futuristic settings. This Jack Kirby creation from the bronze age gets a new lease on life, in large part due to Barry Smith's refreshing interpretation. Herb Trimpe's rough layouts provide a firm foundation, including two generous splash pages. Smith's inks provide an exceptional level of detail and craftsmanship, infusing the pages with his trademark neoclassical style. His cover for this first issue begins a sequential depiction throughout the series. This copper age series was reprinted in the Machine Man trade paperback. This is 1 of 4 Machine Man v2 issues by Smith. /// key 1st issue
