Journey into Mystery v2 #1 - Jim Starlin / Mike Ploog art

Journey into Mystery v2 #1, 1972 - Jim Starlin's typically smooth and streamlined drawings becomes coarser, looser and more textural due to Mike Ploog's inks. Although Starlin's layouts are instantly recognizable, the finishes add a superbly supernatural flair. The two artists would also collaborate with similar success on the cover for Vault of Evil #2. Other artists in this issue include Gil Kane (art & cover), Ralph Reese and Tom Palmer. This is number 1 of 3 Journey into Mystery v2 issues with Starlin art and/or covers and number 1 of 1 Journey into Mystery v2 issues with Ploog art and/or covers.
