Yanks in Battle v1 #1, 1956 - On their way to the French Riviera for furlough, a US platoon finds newly installed roadblocks barring their path. With the help of locals, they discover a plot by the Russians to kidnap fifty rocket scientists in South America. Through smarts and guile, the American GIs thwart their plans. This first issue, like many other war comics, emphasizes the threat of further Communist incursion into Europe and beyond.
