Science Comics v1 #1, 1940 - A criminal organization called the Purple Gang is overrunning the city. Bill Powers, a scientist who invented an anti-gravity fluid, takes off after them as the Eagle. In a separate tale, Jim Andrews sacrifices himself to prevent a widespread explosion. Not only does he survive, but he gains super strength and electrical powers as Electro, Lastly, a nurse held hostage by a mad biologist infuses her with panther blood. With her new cat-like abilities, she escapes into the jungle as Marga the Panther Woman. In addition to Emil Gershwin (Eagle, Marga) and Bob Webb (Electro), artists in this first issue include George Tuska, Arnold Haney, Richard Crater and Bert Whitman. Cover by Lou Fine.
