Avengers v1 #9, 1964 - Baron Zemo's machine transforms Simon Williams into Wonder Man, preparing him to infiltrate and destroy the Avengers from within. Relinquishing the story art, Jack Kirby only contributes this cover. Floating heads showcase the main characters while hinting at the battle to come. While a commonly used technique, this effort seems less than enthusiastic. This Stan Lee story was drawn by Don Heck and Dick Ayers.
