Batman Family #12 |
Batman Family v1 #12, 1977 - In contrast to the previous issue,
Marshall Rogers delivers a stunning effort for the Man-Bat back-up tale. The character unexpectedly transforms into a were-jaguar, leading to beautifully detailed scenes of his flight into the forest on pages 8-9 (see interior page below). Rogers' drawings are graphically pleasing throughout, further enhanced by Terry Austin's streamlined inks. This story was later reprinted in
Best of DC #51. On a side note, the inside front cover has a (rarely seen?) Green Lantern Twinkies ad drawn by Neal Adams. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Jose Delbo, Vince Colletta and Irv Novick. Cover by Jim Aparo. This is 2 of 3
Batman Family issues by
Rogers.
