Amazing Spider-man #10 - Steve Ditko art & cover + 1st Enforcers

Steve Ditko
Amazing Spider-man v1 #10, 1964 - A criminal mastermind known as the Big Man proceeds to take over every gang in town, aided by his team of Enforcers. Steve Ditko begins with an appealing splash page, showcasing the same cast of villains on the cover (and doing it better). Numerous panels fill almost every one of his story pages, yet his drawings maintain interest and excitement. Ditko portrays Spider-man's acrobatics with great skill, even in scenarios where the hero is vastly outnumbered (see interior page below). Written by Stan Lee, this is 10 of 38 Amazing Spider-Man issues by Ditko. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover Enforcers

The original Ditko cover to Spider-Man 10 was rejected (there are colored versions of it posted on the web). On the above cover the Enforcers seem to be drawn by Ditko, but Spider-Man is likely Kirby. Notice how flat Spidey's face is in profile- Ditko would have drawn a protrusion indicating where the nose is.
