Epic Illustrated v1 #5, 1981 - In the eighth installment of Jim Starlin's Metamorphosis Odyssesy, Aknaton gathers his team of exceptional beings. Vanth Dreadstar, his newest recruit, has serious doubts about his fellow teammates and the mission in general. Some of the renderings are less confident than previous issues, particularly how the backgrounds are applied on the first two pages. Overall, Starlin's solidly designed layouts more than compensate. Other artists in this issue include Charles Vess. Cover painting by the famed Brothers Hildebrandt. This is 5 of 13 Epic Illustrated issues by Starlin.
