Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #91 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #91, 1948 - In order to raise his profile, Donald Duck invites high society types to his jungle-themed party. Unfortunately, things go wrong when he hypnotizes his nephews into thinking they're monkeys. Carl Barks perfectly captures the wealth and snobbery of the guests. The story's hijinks allow for some hilariously frenetic panels. Barks' layouts are fairly conservative, but his lively drawings more than compensate. This story was later reprinted in >Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #307. Other features in this issue include Bucky Bug, Lil Bad Wolf and Mickey Mouse. Other artists in this issue include Floyd Gottfredson. Cover by Walt Kelly.
