Western Roundup v1 #16, 1956 - A wide array of western heroes are showcased in this book, including a trio of Russ Manning tales. In the first two, Rex Allen is lured away from town by a false emergency and Johnny Mack Brown tries to thwart a pair of embezzlers. A third story features Dale Evans helping a young man seemingly devoid of courage. Manning noticeably struggles with likenesses and facial expressions. Of the three, his last story contains better layouts and panels with greater depth. Other artists in this golden age comic include Dan Spiegle.
