Creepy #79 - Alex Toth art

Creepy #79
Creepy v1 #79, 1976 - Arriving by seaplane, a wealthy young couple fly to a deserted island in search of an ancient temple. This cautionary tale is brilliant drawn by Alex Toth. Panels are framed in black, rather than white, emphasizing a claustrophobic feel. A variety of thick and thin strokes add a strong textural quality to the drawings. This is best exemplified by Toth's extraordinary opening splash, depicting a thousand-year-old stone carving of a native god (see interior page below). Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Jose Ortiz. This is 9 of 15 Creepy issues by Toth.
