Strange Tales #126 - Jack Kirby cover, Steve Ditko art

Jack Kirby
Strange Tales v1 #126, 1964 - Summoned by his master the Ancient One, Doctor Strange is tasked with entering another dimension and confronting the dreaded Dormammu. Steve Ditko's artwork is enjoyable, made more so by his weird landscapes and shifting forms. These creative settings are key to the artist's success on this series. Clea and Dormammu also make their first appearances.  This story was later reprinted in Doctor Strange v2 #3. Jack Kirby contributes the cover, but it's a less satisfying effort. Other artists in this issue include Dick Ayers. See today's posts or more Ditko, Kirby or Strange Tales issues.
