Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #197 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #197
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #197, 1957 - Donald Duck moves to the US/Mexico border, where his new job as a patrolman is to keep illicit smugglers at bay. Carl Barks creates elaborate scams that fool poor Donald, but not his savvy nephews. The desolate setting leaves little opportunity for artistic details, forcing the artist to focus on the characters themselves. This story was later reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #354. Other artists in this golden age comic include Paul Murry. This is 157 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
