The Thing v2 #2 - John Byrne art

The Thing v2 #2, 1983 - Contacted by his old college sweetheart, Ben Grimm has reservations about her seeing him in his current "condition". The story provides some insight into the Thing's past, prior to his joining the Fantastic Four. John Byrne's inks clearly dominate Ron Wilson's pencils, but with beneficial results (say, compared to the cover). The opening splash, of the Thing lifting a massive weight, is a stand out among the story pages. This effort compares to other issues drawn solely by Byrne. This is number 2 of 4 Thing issues with Byrne art and/or covers.
