Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #43 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #43
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #43, 1944 - Huey, Louie and Dewey do everything possible to avoid taking their bath, including evading their persistent Uncle Donald. Carl Barks' drawings are clean and concise. Many panels present the barest of information, but the approach seems to make the pacing and layouts more efficient. Bolivar, the ducks' large dog, plays an integral part of the sight gags (see interior page above). This story was later reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #300. Other features in this issue include Mickey Mouse, Little Hiawatha and Bucky Bug. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Taliaferro. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 12 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
