Unusual Tales #27 - Steve Ditko art & cover

Steve Ditko
Unusual Tales v1 #27, 1961 - Talking himself into a mining job, Robert Sims works up the corporate ladder to amass wealth and power. Steve Ditko showcases his draftsmanship on this story, drawing each page in meticulous detail. Interestingly, the artist uses few shadows throughout, eliminating depth but gaining a textural quality. This approach is unique and rarely seen during Ditko's career. The cover repurposes some panel art from the interiors. Other artists in this silver age comic include Rocco Mastroserio, Bill Molno and Vince Alascia. This is 16 of 18 Unusual Tales issues by Ditko.
