Man of Steel v1 #6, 1986 - Returning to Smallville, Superman learns more about his origins and re-connects with sweetheart Lana Lang. The last issue of the series circles back to the hero’s beginnings. John Byrne's scenes of a small midwestern town are almost nostalgic. These contrast directly with Kryptonian imagery peppered throughout the story. Byrne concludes the issue in the same way he opened it, with an iconic rendition of the man of steel. This copper age story was later reprinted in the Secret Origins trade paperback. This is 6 of 6 Man of Steel issues by Byrne.
