Wartime Romances v1 #11, 1952 - Joyce's obsession turns to cruelty when tries to separate the man she loves from his newly acquired bride. Matt Baker's cover is sufficient, but his corresponding interior story is exceptional. The artwork showcases the artist's keen draftsmanship, particularly the faces and figures. The layouts and pacing are thoughtful and considered. His best page features the main character, peeking through a grid of window panes while heavy with anticipation (see interior page).
