Phantom v2 #39 - Steve Ditko art

The Phantom v2 #39, 1970 - Brigands on horseback attack a small African village, creating a crisis for the residents and an American peace corps volunteer. Though only four pages, Steve Ditko does an admirable job with this back-up story. His drawings are clean, crisp and visually compelling. His linework is prevalent throughout the pages, adding shading and pattern where necessary. Other artists in this issue include Pat Boyette. This is number 2 of 2 Phantom issues with Ditko art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Ditko or Phantom issues. See also this blog's Ditko checklist.
