Adventures Into The Unknown #116 - Al Williamson / Angelo Torres art

Adventures into the Unknown #116, 1960 - An anthropologist travels to the remote Idaho mountains in search of a hundred year old serpent cult. This brief tale showcases Al Williamson's realistic rendering style, whether in facial close-ups or wilderness backgrounds. Angelo Torres' inks are tight and concise. Their most intriguing image is the Merlin-like wizard on the first page, which oddly enough, has little to do with the story. Other artists in this issue include Paul Reinman, John Forte, Kurt Schaffenberger and Ogden Whitney (cover). This is number 5 of 5 Adventures into the Unknown issues with Williamson art and/or covers (not including reprints) and number 2 of 2 Adventures into the Unknown issues with Torres art and/or covers (not including reprints). See today's posts or more Williamson or Adventures Into The Unknown issues. See also this blog's Williamson checklist or Torres checklist.
