Blazing Western #1 - Steve Ditko art + 1st issue

Blazing Western #1
Blazing Western v1 #1, 1954 - A war between cattle ranchers and sheepherders breaks out, leaving the Utah Kid to mediate between them. Although the panels are relatively small and the dialogue is heavy, the visual storytelling is more than adequate. Steve Ditko hints at the unknown instigator early on, lighting his face in an unflattering way (page four, panel four). Note that many faces and objects are placed in the extreme foreground to enhance depth. Although his forays into the western genre are not often, Ditko draws competently enough in this first issue. This issue also includes artwork by Vince Fodera. This is 1 of 1 Blazing Western issues by Ditko. /// key 1st issue
