E-Man #2 - Steve Ditko art + 1st Killjoy

E-Man #2
E-Man v1 #2, 1973 - One of Charlton's more popular bronze age titles, E-man was one of their few forays into the super-hero genre. Much lesser known are the back up stories by Steve Ditko, starting with this issue. His acrobatic hero Killjoy makes his first appearance after the unusually small title panel. While the story has an abundance of tiny scenes (see interior page below), Ditko's drawings remain kinetic and engaging. This issue also includes artwork by Joe Staton. Cover by Staton. This is 1 of 3 E-man issues by Ditko. /// key 1st appearance Killjoy

I loved those Killjoy stories, and wish Ditko had done more of them. They proved he could make his Objectivist views known without clobbering you over the head with them, and with a fine humorous touch, at that. And it was some great artwork and storytelling as only Ditko can do it!
