New Mutants #47, 1986 - The alien Warlock transforms into a enormous menace on this convoluted cover design. Like his previous cover, Barry Windsor Smith attempts to fit in many of the title characters. In addition to the numerous heroes, the behemoth's textured skin adds more confusion to the scene. While capably drawn, the layout fills in every available space and neglects visual breathing room. Smith's quieter covers seem to be more successful in their execution.
