Fighting American v2 #1, 1966 -
Over a decade had passed since Joe Simon and Jack Kirby first introduced this Cold War-era hero. This first issue features a new cover and three original stories by the creators. In addition, four of the duo's best works are reprinted from the 1950s: "Break the Spy Ring" (originally titled "Peter Piper's Red Vipers") and "Duel to the Finish Line" from Fighting American #1 and "Meet Doubleheader" and "League of Handsome Devils" from Fighting American #2. Amazingly, Simon and Kirby's new artwork is comparable in quality to the older material, bringing cohesion and consistency to the entire issue. Three of the original series' covers are also reprinted but are too small to be fully appreciated. This is 8 of 8 Fighting American issues by Kirby. /// key 1st issue

The art isn't new. It was meant for FA #8 before it was cancelled. Simon was hired by Harvey to create a super hero line (remember bee-man?) around '66 and used this unpublished FA material to fill up this issue.
