Amazing Adventures v3 #6 - Neal Adams art & cover

Neal Adams
Amazing Adventures v3 #6 featuring the Inhumans and Black Widow, 1970 - Awakening from his customized prison, Maximus immediately uses his mental powers to induce amnesia upon Black Bolt. Neal Adams' cover is better than most, displaying both a crowd of Inhumans and the Black Widow within separate panels (possibly his first rendition of her). Inside, his exquisite drawing skills are somewhat marred by John Verpoorten's poor inking. Among the many scenes affected: a magnificent opening splash featuring Karnak and Gorgon on the attack. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Don Heck and Sal Buscema. This is 2 of 5 Amazing Adventures v3 issues by Adams.

As much as I love Adams inked by Girodano, I think Palmer (as demonstrated in their work together on X-MEN 56-63, AVENGERS 93-96, and this one beautiful issue of AMAZING ADVENTURES (the others inked by Verpoorten) is by far the better inker on Adams.

I think beyond Giordano, the only other inker I like on Adams, is Adams himself!

Wow. I thought I was the exception. But it turns out I'm with the majority!
