Fantastic Worlds #6 - Alex Toth art & cover

Fantastic Worlds #6 golden age science fiction comic book cover art by Alex Toth
Alex Toth
Fantastic Worlds v1 #6, 1952 - A boy witnesses an alien invasion, yet Alex Toth's artwork is fairly straightforward. Captions and word balloons are more intrusive than normal, taking up valuable space for the artist's drawings. Most disappointing is the opening panel, where the lack of depth and detail make the world-changing event into a mundane occurrence. Toth's cover (unrelated to the story) is significantly better. The razor-toothed coils of the man-eating plant circle around the victim to create a strong focal point. Other artists in this golden age science fiction comic include George Roussos and John Celardo. This is 2 of 2 Fantastic Worlds issues by Toth,
