Tower of Shadows #3 - Barry Windsor Smith art

Tower of Shadows #3, 1970 - Robbers case the house of a hermetic old sea captain in this early Barry Smith tale. The art is unpolished and rough-hewn, consistent with his other works of the same era. Inkers John Verpoorten and Dan Adkins do their best to add definition and clarity, but are only partially successful. Still, Smith's experimental layouts and unusual viewpoints (see interior page above) are not without merit. Other artists in this issue include George Tuska and Gene Colan.
