7.  Green Lantern / Green Arrow v2 #76, 1970 - In what seemed radical at the time, this landmark issue brings two established superheroes together to delve into the social issues of the time. Writer Denny O' Neil and artist Neal Adams begin their historic run, bringing social relevance to comics. The provocative cover employs a monochromatic color palette, uncommon for the time but nicely reinforces the lead characters. Inside, Adams' artwork is exquisite, particularly in his renditions of ordinary people. Green Lantern's encounter with an elderly African-American man (page 6) is especially poignant and masterfully drawn. Not surprisingly, this issue won a bevy of industry awards and accolades. This Denny O Neil story was later reprinted in Green Lantern Green Arrow #1. This is 2 of 15 Green Lantern v2 issues by Adams. /// key landmark issueTop 10 Adams comics / Adams gallery
